Keeping Treasured Memories In Cardboard Boxes!
I know that some of you are thinking “what’s the big deal about cardboard boxes?” Well, I’m going to tell you. There is a lot of value and meaning behind them.
It all started when my husband and I got married. We had a beautiful wedding with lots of family and friends who came from all over town. It was so wonderful. We even had a photographer come and take pictures. The day after our wedding we went back home to start our new life together.
When we arrived home there were two cardboard boxes sitting on our front porch. They were brand new and still had their wrapping paper on them. My husband thought it was pretty cool! He brought the boxes inside and put them down in the kitchen.
As he was walking away he said, “Do you want me to go get the tape for those boxes? You can use them as storage.” And then he left.
Memories play the most crucial role in the life of people. They can plan to keep their memory which includes the photos and the other things in the pappkarbid. This will keep all the material safe for a longer period of time. a person just needs to select the right size and the quality of the cardboards.
Well, I didn’t really have anything to store but my wedding photographs which were already framed. So, I took the packages out of the box and opened them up – they were still sealed. I opened one package and looked at the contents. It contained two large pictures in black frames with white matting. The other package contained three smaller pictures and a frame.
So, I knew what I needed to do. I took my pictures and put them into the boxes and secured them with packing tape. Then I put the pictures into the frames and closed them up. All I had to do now was find something to put these boxes on.
I sat down on the couch and picked up the telephone book. In the yellow pages, I found a list of businesses that made cardboard boxes. One place caught my eye and I called them first. When I spoke to them I told them that I wanted to order six boxes. They explained to me that they would need an address for delivery.
At this point, I didn’t realize how important this was because I was just trying to figure out where I was going to keep the boxes. That’s when I remembered that I had written down the phone number of a furniture store that had been referred to us by another friend.
The furniture store delivered everything we needed to set up our bedroom. The boxes that the cardboard company sent were perfect for storing all my clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. They also fit perfectly under the bed. After we unpacked everything we realized how handy the boxes were. I had never used them before but they worked great!
Now, here’s another example of using cardboard boxes. This time it was for my daughter. She was graduating from high school and she wanted to hold graduation parties. She invited her classmates and then everyone else she knew. In order to save money, she decided to have a potluck dinner instead of ordering food.
She asked everyone to bring a dish and a drink, but if they couldn’t make both they could bring only one. She bought a bunch of plastic plates and cups and some plastic utensils so that people wouldn’t break theirs.
She asked everyone to bring something to eat and drink at the party. She also planned to give each person a gift and cards. To do this, she ordered some inexpensive cardboard boxes. They were the kind you can buy at any office supply store.
She filled the boxes with her gifts and wrapped them. She then tied the boxes with ribbon and wrote cards on the outside. The next day she placed the boxes everywhere she could think of to hide them. For instance, she hid them underneath the furniture in the living room and in the bathroom cabinet.
One night while she was sitting on the couch, watching TV, she opened the top drawer of the coffee table. There were the boxes! She decided to open one since they weren’t too dirty or smelly. She pulled out all her gifts and decorations to see what was inside.
She then realized that she hadn’t given anyone a card. She quickly ran off to the local drugstore to purchase some envelopes. At the checkout counter, she asked the clerk if he had any stamps. While waiting for him to finish ringing her up she glanced through the store window at the display of greeting cards.
There was a huge stack of cards on the shelf. She saw a red envelope and decided to open it. She read the card and smiled. She then walked over to the cash register and paid her bill. As she was leaving she noticed that the clerk had taken the card out of the envelope and was looking at it.
He asked her why she had not written her own card. She explained that she had forgotten. He then gave her her envelope back and stamped her card for free.
A few days later she received a letter from her classmate with the card that she had given to everyone at the party. Her classmate thanked her for the nice things she had done for her. The note included a picture of her graduation cake which the classmate had decorated herself.
In closing, I just want to say that I love using cardboard boxes as storage. I am sure that there are many more uses for them than just holding clothes, shoes, and other small items. Just try some of your own ideas and see what works best for you.
